Why do some women think that being able to cook makes them a catch?

It's because a lot of guys don't know how to cook and just put stuff in the microwave. A lot of people don't know how to do basic stuff to take care of themselves anymore. I was disappointed when I went to college. I thought people were going to be smarter and be able to basic things like cook, but when I got there a majority of people just opened up a package and put it's on contents in the microwave.

Yea I mean, even if it’s something simple like tacos, homemade hamburger helper, pasta, pepper steak etc long as you can cook something to make sure you don’t cease to exist because you’re starving or you kill yourself by eating all fast food. Being able to cook is just a survival skill not a “he will date me because I can cook.” Kind of skill lol

Well, fast food is getting a lot better now. We have stuff like chipotle now; it's healthy and taste better than Mcdonalds. So i can see a future where most people don't cook. And they're training AI to cook too. So maybe a very few people will still know to cook.

Yea I mean they’re are providing healthier choices and the newer fast food chains. Chick fil a is one of them, I guess you can say Chipotle but I’m personally not a fan of them.

Taco Bell is good too. Even at McDonald’s Donald the use to have the south west grill chicken salad. Some they’re slowly trying to get of the stigma of fast only being for fat people. Subway is good too.

I don't think I'd go crazy for women who knows cooking, I'd just appreciate it. It just slices the workload in half.

What? As in a dating profile? That’s a positive, why not highlight it? Doesn’t make everyone a good match, but nothing wrong with pointing it out.

Because it's not as universal a girl skill as before and it has a few qualities for dating: it's traditionally feminine; homey and serviceful.

Well I have to disagree because most women I know do cook, but I’m not saying that all of them who do cook actually make food that taste good but they do all still cook and cooking to me isn’t a personality trait. You can probably make the best food in the world but if other qualities about you makes your partner unhappy then being able to cook doesn’t mean much other than what you said, it’s beneficial when you’re hungry and don’t want to go out or order out but that’s it. Nothing serious or big.

Some girls like to leverage their smaller positives. I don't think of it as much of a catch either because I know how to cook what I eat as well.

I won’t say I’m a chef but I can cook well enough. I stick to what I mostly, I’m not the biggest fan of trying new dishes that I’m not familiar with making only because if it comes out bad I will have to order out lol
