I honeslty dont really believe that 1 in 6 girls will be a victim. I think its overly inflated to make it look bad on innocent men. Rather 1 in 12 girls. Is something I can realize. Women will be pretty mute on this issue because any crime toward women seem to be not important.

Yes sadly it is. I and almost every girl I know have experienced some form of sexual assult. The numbers are real and I'm sorry you take offense to that but if you feel attacked because rapists and sexual assulters are being held accountable then you are part of the problem. I personally can't think of a woman I know who hasn't been SA'd. Even I, a fourteen year old, used to be assaulted on the daily in middle school e. g. being groped in the hallways, choked, and masturbated on, and have been raped twice in my life. Sexual assult is common and people like you are making it worse by spreading these false comments.

I don't know, but I can speak for myself when I was a teenager my guy friend in a "joking" manner touched my boobs and I felt very weird about it.

Any time it comes to statistics you need to do some digging if you want to get anything out of it. Check how the research was done. Check the methodology. Check how they controlled the study. Check the sampling and whether it's representative. Check how they define and categorize things. Check for anything that seems biased. Most importantly check other research and see if multiple studies give similar stats. They will never match exactly but they should be reasonably close.

A single set of stats is usually worthless by itself. You need to dig into it more.

Greatly depends on country, also sexual crime is a large umbrella.

for example up-skirting is a fairly major real world physical thing.

Then there are cybercrimes where online offences occur with under 18’s.

i would say the stats of 1 in 6 are likely about right or high.

Including online offences, I would say it’s likely every girl under 18 online faces what is a sexual crime.
