Why do girls looks to the side when they see a specific walking by?

There is a girl that sometime I walk by her and she sees me before we get close, she turns her head to the right, and looks back straight once we pass by each other. I’ve caught her staring from a far before but when we’re walking by each other she completely looks the opposite direction.

That brings us to a new question: why didn't they want you to see?

1. They like you, but they're shy.
2. They're taken.
3. They checked you out and realized they're not interested.
4. They're just looking to see if you're checking them out. Whether that's for an ego boost or just to be aware of their surroundings for safety's sake, you'll never know.

Bottom line: Conserve your energy for the young ladies who make eye contact and hold your gaze.
