Is texting new college batchmates a bad sign on whatsapp? Am I bad person or should I change myself?

Since our colleges are currently going in online mode. So our subject teachers made a whatsapp group. From there we had access to almost everyone's number. Am i being creep or weird individual by texting random persons in their dm in a hope of getting notes or important information also who knows maybe a good friend.

When i text boys i dont have such feeling of weirdness or so but when it comes to girls i often wonder have i crossed a line or am i showing too much of closeness while texting them.

Maybe it would be better to make your profile pic on whatsapp you yourself so you are a legitimate person... It could be a plus if you have met them offline before.

however, tbh, if you want to do it do it openly and honestly. (make your intention clear and confident- not cocky). This is only the first person you text. no harm done.

Navigating certain situations like this can be really tricky. I don't think there's any harm in saying hello or leaving a brief message. I guess It's important to go slow, don't get too personal until you know them better and then who knows they may grow to be a really good friend. It's good to reach out to the person, because maybe the chances are that they may feel the same way.

Nope, I don't think there's anything wrong with texting your new class. Just don't send them anything they may not be comfortable with.
