Does this sound like she is "too shy" to say hello or just doesn't like me?

There's this girl who I think is cute. We are classmates so we see each other almost everyday. I've talked to her and we usually have a lot of fun, although from time to time she is a bit quiet, but I notice its only to me. Usually when she says hello to people (doesn't matter if they are friends or acquaintances) she will be pretty enthusiastic and say something like "Hi (name of the person)! how are you?" smile on her face and she is pretty consistent about it. When I see her coming, I wait on purpose to say hi, sometimes she will say it (but its just a dry "hello" or "good morning" and doesn't look at me or smiles). When I say it, I try to be expressive about it, I will call her by a nickname I gave her and she will look at me and I'll be like "HI!" but she will be pretty dry about it, one time I asked her "wow, can your force your hello a little bit more?" and she said "well, I can try" and she was walking away, but then she looked back at me over her shoulder with a big smile and then turned and kept walking. I think we have a good time talking and joking, but she seems way too nervous around me and the way she greets me (while she greets everybody the same) makes me feel she doesn't like me that much, your thoughts?

I'm not going to guarantee you a completely accurate answer here but, I'm a shy girl myself & while I'll have no problem saying hi to my friends & acquaintances when I see a guy I like it's like I get so nervous that I shut down & even if I WANT to say hi to him or something, I just can't so, I usually wait for him to acknowledge me first. Maybe she's the same. I don't know how long you've been talking to her for but, try saying hello to her first & do so in a friendly manner. If her hellos to you still sound dry and uninterested then, then she's probably not interested.

Well, believe it or not, you gave me an accurate answer. I've known her for months (like I say we talk a lot, tease each other and call each other names playfully) but her hellos are still dry and uninterested although she did get upset when she said hello recently and I gave a dry one back lol. Oh well, I tried :P

Lol. Hmm...well, then I don't know what's going on with her because if I like a guy & he gives me an enthusiastic hello, I'll try my best to give him an enthusiastic hello back. I'm sorry I don't understand her.

Hahaha I know, I feel the same way. One day I decided to say hello every time we crossed paths and she kept it up until she told me "youve said hello to me like 10 times, you are so clingy" hahaha

I want to say she dose not like you except she jokes with you and seems comfortable with that, which shows that she interest is there. whether or not she wants to date you, I can't say because she hasn't shown any signs she's that interested in you, except she's nervous around you.

Yeah, I mean I didn't want to go into a lot of detail because the question might be too long of a read. I just thought it was somewhat interesting that she doesn't say hi to me the same way she says it to even people she doesn't talk to that much. I'm guessing its out of politeness for her to smile to acquaintances, but if she doesn't do it to me, then she definetely doesn't think too highly of me
