Not sure if girl likes me. Been sending me mixed signals. How should I approach?

I have hung out with this girl about 4 times and the third time I caught her looking at me. She also seemed interested in me and asked me questions about myself. But the fourth time I hung out with her she was talking to another dude and when someone asked if they were dating she said "not yet". I've been thinking about asking her out to grab a bite to eat but am not 100% sure if she likes me. What should I do?

Why not ask her on another date? By her saying “not yet” in regards to you guys dating, its inferring that she is expecting you to be a couple. That’s what I think.


Was she talking to the other guy in a flirty or romantic way? Or just in a friendly or platonic way? Usually in the “talking stage” of dates, people aren’t exclusive and talk to other people…


You just need to approach it like you used to. What changed? What were the other mixed signals?

Ohhhh, gotcha. I think you could just ask her if she’d like to go out to eat. If she agrees, you can try to get to know eachother on a more personal level rather than in a friend group.

Even if she was flirty with him, it doesn’t always mean she doesn’t like you. It’s worth a try, don’t give up

Sorry, but all indications say she isn't interested in you as far as relationship goes. Perhaps she likes you as a friend and that is why she enjoys hanging out with you.

If she is talking to another guy, she could be interested in him or just not interested in a relationship with anyone. Saying "not yet" might mean she is hoping at some point.

You're going about this all wrong. Ask her her she's likely to be hungry one evening. When she asks why, tell her because you would like to take her out to dinner and it would be pointless if she's not hungry!
