I'm not a guy but I don't see the logic in that tbh. You have study breaks it's not like you are going to study 24/7. I'd see it just as an excuse or wanting to make him crave for you tbh.

Final year of school. Like 4 weeks of school left before graduation. So she told him she would want to focus on it, and also on some other stuffs, so she might not reply him for the next 4 weeks...

I'm sure I would miss her a lot. My ex-fiance was trying to write her dissertation 25 years ago and she needed to be alone to concentrate on it so, as I cared a lot about her and wanted to see her get it done, I left her alone for a while until she was ready to see me again.

How long did you leave her alone during that period?

I'm not sure, a couple weeks, I guess. It gave me more time to get some of my recording projects done.

Would you lose feelings in that couple of weeks of not texting or seeing her?

No. I didn't lose feelings for her at all until I discovered that, a couple years later, she was cheating on me! Now, I'm not so sure I'd even give a shit about ever seeing her again and, even if she did come back over, she probably wouldn't find me because I'm not in the same house, anymore. she's been here a few times but I seriously doubt she'd even remember how to get here or has any clue that I'm here. She can rot in Denmark (or whatever country she's in, now), for all I care.
