Why are most of my female coworkers teasing me a lot?

Like every single day. A few of my coworkers relentlessly tease me then others hop in on the fun even though I am not interacting with them that much. I'd be doing my work peacefully and then they'd insert my name in whatever stupid joke they're making up and suddenly I am being gang teased on by the girls. Nothing too insulting but not too chill either. At first, I wasn't bothered, but then I started noticing the increasing rate of these instances that it's been challenging to have a peaceful day lol. Like if a girl is passing by, she'd hit my chair on purpose or when my female team leader puts a target and goes on saying ''if we don't hit target today, guess who we are going to punish" then girls easily guess my name lol. We are 3 guys on the team along with 15 girls which is probably why this is happening. I've been generally friendly but now I think I kind of regret it lol. At first I teased back but I didn't know it was going to be like that every day.

This is an issue that has to be taken to HR immediately because it is a kind of harassment by the opposite gender.

You do state that those teases are " not too chill" and that means that they can be interpreted as making fun or you, perhaps even insinuating some sexual jokes or those innuendos with double meanings.

If you let this go on, you are an accomplice of harassment because you did not intervene before it gets out of hand.

If HR does not want to act upon your complaint, then you have to go directly up to top management. This behavior by those girls is inacceptable.

@SueShe You know... I had seen this and thought of your upcoming internship. I'm guessing being a member of GaG teaches you ALL you need to know about how not to behave in an office setting.

Just an observation from all the lewd conduct that seems to go on according to these work related questions. I hope your office will be a bit more professional. 🙂
