If a girl says a guy should be 6 foot or taller and in shape why shouldn't there be standards for women?

That picture is real, and hasn't been doctored in any way. They really think guys should be ripped when modeling underwear and girls can look like anything.

First of all you are selecting an advertisement to depict "what men and women are supposed to look like".
The fact that it is an advertisement says it all. Women became tired of the skin and bones victoria secret Models and such. We protested it. So now things have finally changed.

Such advertisement are geared to sell to women.

Now as far as clothing for men and their advertisement we women HAVE nothing to do with it! If men have a problem with all the men in those pictures looking like Photoshopped steroid gym junkies then men should complain about it. Those images are gear to sell to men not women. So clearly the industry believes they can sell more clothing to men if they use unrealistic models. So the way I see it men don't care, they have no desire to fight or boycott the industry or perhaps it works. Either way it has nothing to do with what women think.

Now who says women all claim men need to adhere to a standard? Where is this written? Are you perfaps refering to the few girls out there who desire unrealistic ken doll/gi joe playmates? Whatever its absolute nonsense! There no standard anything. People come in all shapes and sizes. Its just as insane to desire perfection as it is to say that every demands it.
Now as I just sated on another postAs far as men go I do not have a body type. AND ITS A HUGE PET PEEVE of mine when people try to say a man has to meet certain standards. I believe it erks me more when its men putting themselves down. I love a man to dress well smell AMAZING and be intellectually appealing. I have dated all types of men including one man Who weighed over 300 pounds to a man who was aiming to become Mr Connecticut (body building). so basically I've dated skinny thick fat average and muscular. They've been short 5'3, the average height 5'7 and my tallest height was 6'1. Amongst these men's they had several different sizes in penises from micro (about the length and width of my thumb) to 10 in. I do not have an exact attraction box when it comes to men What I will say is I'm quite a sucker for knowledge and skillfulness. Show me your mind and share with me your talents! Now add a GREAT SEXY SCENT and a man who takes pride in his appearance, his manner of dressing grooms himself well keeps himself clean... And Im seeing hearts.

With sleepwear and lingerie.
Those are catered towards women (i don't know anything about men's underwear)
Their goal is to make us buy their shit so having models of girls wearing certain bras, panties helps those with the same body type become more confident in buying it.
More money for them. More stuff for us.

I don't know shit about men's clothes, sizing, ads but if that is an issue you can state your concerns and make your voice heard just like a lot of women did.

With beauty standards, I'm biased. Growing up, it was okay for guys to be fat or chunky. If a girl was fat she would get made fun of or seen as "disgusting". Girls have to be skinny/slim and if you weren't you'd get picked at. Guys can be chunky, go outside with their shirt off, but god forbid a chunky/average girl w/o a model body go out in a bikini.
Guys would be picked at for having a chunky girlfriend ("chubby chaser"), but it was no problem if a girl was dating a chubby guy.
Not saying big guys never get made fun of, but in my experience we were judged and criticized more in the looks department for not being slim/skinny/curvy.

& Everyone has preferences. Nothing wrong with that.

Women are used to men desiring and pursuing them and for men to do that, they have to be attractive, which requires some level of effort generally, but when a man puts his foot down and says no, because she's too fat, old, etc, women don't like it, even though a man's standards are often times far more realistic and women's are often times more hypocritical.

Men expect too much from women. You wanna know why your expectations are ruining your chance of dating?

Remember the early 80's it was practically the same standards only the genders were flipped. The trends will continually change, so I say like what you like and don't buy into it all. I would advise being healthy though because that at least seems to be universal. Obese is not healthy in my opinion.

Not a direct answer to your question, but I'm here to speculate on the picture. Maybe it was made to appeal to women (message: you can be a model as long as you have our underwear!) and then to men (message: you'll look so strong in our underwear!). It is an interesting difference, and no doubt body positivity standards are way different. But my speculation on this ad is that it's based on how the company thinks their customers want to see themselves

Hate to break it to you, the reason there are plus size models is because of women pushing against the advertising and fashion industry to be more realistic and as a move away from size zero.

never seen any guys pushing for changes in the fashion industry, plus size models etc.

1.) EVERYONE has a standard for what is good, true and beautiful. The collective cultural practices and standards for all three are influenced by numerous multi-faceted factors.
2.) No two standards are the same across cultures and individuals.

As much as they try there will always be a beauty standard. I think it may have to do with women in general caring more about it. Most men generally would question brands doing it for men just as they do for women. So there is no point for the brand to do it if it may actually deter men.
