Maybe being on the same level as other highly attractive people give some more reasons to be jealous of others? Especially if they can't reach certain goals others can reach more easily?

Also, I've heard that women are instinctually harsher towards more attractive women because they see them as competition. Whereas an ugly girl might get a lot of pity compliments.
