Women what is your opinion on men who choose housewives instead of working women?

If that is there choice, then fine. I think you’ll find that is increasingly rare these days as most women get an education and have a career after that. I do. Even though I want to start a family and will be splitting time between two countries at some point, I wish to keep working.

Depending on how things end up, I’ll at least volunteer if I am part time. Of course, I will take care of our children when young, but once they are of school age, it is my intention to go back to work.

While my future husband does very well and we can easily survive on his income alone, I don’t want to be someone that doesn’t contribute to our finances and household. Not to mention how bored I would be.

Im a high energy person that needs to be doing something or I get restless. That sort of housewife lifestyle is not for me at all.

It’s okay, I think it just means the guy is traditional and old school about it. Nothing wrong with being a family man.

Personally, I lose respect for both the husband and the housewife.

But just a bit. And it's easily regained if they're obviously happy with the arrangement.

However, I'm just not a fan of housespouses in general. My mother is a stay at home mom to this day, and I'm 31. She's been stay at home since before I was born and never got off her lazy ass.

So to me, and it's entirely due to my own baggage, I think housespouses are... Just off. Just not good.

But I also don't think housespouses with sidegigs or home businesses are really "housespouse".

I am not in favor of that type of agreement.

That is a retrograde way of thinking as this implies that those women are totally dependent on the man's income to survive, that have no option but to sacrifice themselves to get back to the stove and cleaning duties as well as the raising of children.

That point of view may have been fashionable in the 50s and 60s of the past century but certainly does not belong in the 21st. century.

Housewives are totally depending on the husband for almost anything in life. They have to beg for pocket money as they are not able to earn their own living.

To me, it is back to a type of slavery.

That’s his choice, and the choice of the woman if she agrees to that lifestyle. If they want to live that lifestyle, fine, all rights to them, but then they should understand that’s them, and they shouldn’t push that lifestyle onto others.


And if at either point either or both partners want to try different lifestyles, they should not be confined and barred from divorce/seeking support.
