Girls, What does it mean when a girl suddenly starts coming over and standing next to me and making small talk with me?

I noticed I was in a group situation and then she comes over to the group but cuts through the group to stand next to me. She has been making some small talk with me. Plus I noticed she laughs at things I say when I'm not talking to her. Even when a another girl was poking some fun at me and then this other girl laughs.

This girl hasn't made any effort with me in the past. But she has started to warm up to me suddenly
