She blocked me off everything for a joke. Why?

So I’ve been talking to this girl for three months. She talked about visiting me for my birthday on Labor Day weekend. Everything was good until yesterday. She messaged me the next day after not talking to me all day Friday. She said that her phone got cut and she didn’t know about it. Only thing I said was “mmmhmm”. She replied again saying that it really happened. So I said “mmmhmmm we going to fight when I see you lol”. She said “don’t do that” and that was her last reply to me. Today, she blocked me off all the social media that we were on plus her number. Why would she block me off a that joking comment alone?

I think you are being catfished. My best friend who is a guy met a woman through gaming back in 2016, and didn’t end it until last year because he was sick of her shit. She’s always make excuses to not video chat, she’s said everything under the sun. They’ve set plans to meet, even for his birthday each year. It would be such a solid plan too, looking at hotels, travel arrangements etc then once it gets down to the wire she can’t go anymore. And she would backpedal from him so hard, doing exactly what your girlfriend does and block him just in time for that trip or in general when he asked too many questions. He didn’t think she was catfish because she has Facebook, but I think it was staged for various reasons I won’t get into for lengths sake. He’s even flown out to her city to surprise her, and got a hotel in the city she said she stayed in. But she made an excuse for why she couldn’t meet him, said her sister got hurt and was in the hospital and made him feel like shit for being pissed at her initially. For you, I would say demand a video chat. Even if her kids are loud it takes literally moments to excuse herself for the bathroom to say she’s showering or whatever. She’s not with them 24/7 school is starting. Even just a recorded video of herself or in the video chat it doesn’t have to be long. But demand proof now dude. If she won’t do it you have your answer.

I also wanted to add quickly that you should not tell her you think she’s catfishing because she will either get defensive and talk her way out of it, make more excuses or run away from you. Go about it calmly, tell her you need to see her it’s the least she could do since she can’t go for your bday. To play devils advocate, there could be a slim chance she thinks you’ll think she’s unattractive and is insecure, but if that’s the case then she has no business being in a relationship. Because this arrangement won’t work forever you are already getting fed up.

She said that she’s insecure about things (ex verbally and mentally abused her). But it’s still no excuse to no video chat after I’ve seen photos. It just hurt that she blocked me from everything for something simple.

That makes no sense as to why she can’t video chat. Like none whatsoever. I feel positive she will unblock you but if she doesn’t then honestly it’s not a loss. You don’t want someone who makes you feel shitty for having feelings, like obviously you are going to be hurt when she changes the plans, you want to meet already. Anyway, those pics may not even be hers. Photos don’t have to be all professional to be a catfish, she can steal anyone’s pics bc so many have social media she has access to millions.
