Girls, I asked a female friend of mine on a date and she said not. But I don’t get why she never told her friends?

She said no because she “had a thing for someone else and didn’t wanna be seeing two guys at once.” I don’t believe that, but regardless the reason doesn't matter to be because a no is a no. I also don’t mind because I’ve been asked out a few times and know what it’s like to just not be interested. However, when I ran into one of her best friends it felt like she didn’t know I had asked her out. I just don’t get why she didn’t tell her friends? Kinda makes me like her more. . . But I’m working on moving on to rebuild our friendship bc it’s been awkward.

Instead of being surprised that she did not gossip around, you should be happy that this person kept the "incident" for herself.

Not everybody has the urge to spread the news around for the entire world to know. This is called discretion and this is something that most people lack nowadays. People nowadays have the urge to share everything with everyone because social media dictates that kind of behavior.

Somehow, I get the feeling that you are almost disappointed that she did not spread the news. Are you the type of person that needs to be the center of attention?

No, I would actually rather not be the center of attention. But her not telling other people makes me like her even more, which is the problem because for the last eight months, I have found her the most beautiful girl I have ever met and impossible for me not to think about. Her smile makes me melt. Last year, I was diassapinted because she was leaving for spring break early, and then (its a large campus) I ran into her in the dining hall, and the interaction was so short, but she was so happy/giddy the whole time and it's impossible for me to forget that smile. I smile just thinking about her smiling.

There’s no need to tell her friends about that, because it’s just not a big deal. You asked her out, she said no end of story. I could see if she liked you as well and was excited about it, which of course she’d be giddy to tell her friends. But this just isn’t the case.
