Should I try to understand her?

So this girl from my gym that I asked for her number months ago. Decided to me today after not responding to my message months ago. She said she was sick. That’s why she didn’t respond to me. this might sound creepy, but I searched her up on Facebook, just because I was curious about her. And her boyfriend past away not too long ago. And now I feel like a jerk. I thought she didn’t like me. But it’s probably because she was hurting still to talk to me. But at the same time I think it’s because I’ve seen her recently checking me out at the gym. I pretended not to notice her. I really like her. And I straight up told her that I like her. Dumb I know, but life is too short. And what do I have to lose. How do I win her when she’s hurting? I want to be there so she never gets sad again

You are close to good friend and never lover. You have to push through and treat her like she’s crushing you. Ask her out with simple plan and itinerary. Nothing to big and stressful

She said she would text me later. And she said she wants to text me every now and then. And have a good relationship. I’m not sure what relationship she means? But I like her. Told her she was cute too. I just hope she lets me in her life

Maybe you should clarify this with her so you know exactly what’s going on and you can act accordingly. The last thing you want is to make assumptions and get the wrong impression.

I don’t mind. As long as I try my best, I just hope she falls for me. She’s like the only girl I took a chance at. I’m actually very shy when it comes to meeting new girls. But once I held the door open for her at the gym, and she smiled at me. I was about to go to my car, but I walked back to her, and told her she was pretty. And I asked for her phone number. I went out of my comfort zone for her.

I think that’s great, I’m also a shy person by nature so I’m 100% rooting for you. Asking how she feels about you though is really important, not just on your behalf but on hers too. If she isn’t interested, then you can be a proper friend. If she is, then you can keep doing what you’re doing. My reason for prompting you to do this is just having been in a similar position as her, misreading the signs that the guy liked me and actually dating someone else. I felt terrible.

Knowing she likes you is a lot better than hoping or assuming she does. It’s a scary conversation I know, but you’re an adult, you can have the grown up conversations.

I mean I told her that I like her. I don’t know what else she could read wrong? And I am a grown adult, that’s why I told her that, instead of playing games.
