I'm pretty sure men have the raw deal these days. marriage has very little benefit to them other than having kids which can be taken away from them by the government.

Actually no I couldn’t just take the house and the kids, there are many laws that dictate how communal property in a marriage is to be divided and how custody agreements are reached. Most divorces do not go to court and the division of communal property and custody is usually negotiated and a settlement is agreed upon with out going to court.
If it does go to court evidence is presented to the judge and they will make a judgment based on the evidence provided if the couple can’t come to agreement on their own.
