Why do you think so many women are true crime fanatics?

I watch true crime from time to time but it’s not a big interest of mine. I know a lot of women who are obsessed with it. My best friend is one and even watches it before sleep to unwind. I don’t understand lol

Yes I don’t get that. Women seem to be obsessed w murder, things of that nature. My girl watches all that bs too. She ask me why I don’t want to watch it. I said because I’m not into that stuff. A movie ok that’s a movie. But to watch it all the time no. They watch SVU too. Some other crime shows as well. Maybe that’s why all these women wanted to marry Charles Manson. Actually one girl did marry him. I told her I don’t care for it because one I’ve lived through some things, seen some things, so I don’t need to see it on tv. Two I like to be happy. She tried to have me watch Dahmer w her. No way rather watch a funny movie. The women I work w obsessed w all that stuff too. Many women know a million ways to kill their partner that’s for sure even mine if she wanted to lol

The only thing I could think is since women are always being told to be careful and watch their surroundings, maybe avoid going out alone at night, etc. that women use experiences of other to be smarter or to have a better chance of getting out. But I’m like you, sitting there watching true crime all day can’t be good for one’s mental health or anxiety

Maybe. I don’t know but a lot of women on my life have been into that sort of thing. Maybe it’s a passion thing as far as a turn on I don’t know. Sounds fucked up but that could be a reason too.

And what has you so interested in true crime?

Not real sure.. my grandfather murdered my grandma then killed himself in front of my mom when she was only 7, maybe that has something to do with it? I've also lived in 3 small areas with very high profile cases.
What about you, what is it about them that does it for you?

I don’t really watch them that often, I mean here and there and I think it’s interesting but it’s not something i tend ti watch daily or for hours on end. I’m much more into things like cults, (even though there tends ti be plenty of murder in them lol), cryptids, real life close encounters where people were almost kidnapped or murdered, etc. i have an interest in some dark stuff but more outside of true crime I guess. Although between your mother (bless her heart she lived through that) and the 3 high profile cases, I could definitely see where that might strike an interest

My mom used to watch it when we had Spectrum years ago. Detective Ken something where he would have flashbacks to his younger days, I think it was True Crime.
