Why do girls have so many pillows in their bed?

A girl just showed me her room on Discord call and on her bed there was literally about 30 pillows a n d a giant teddy bear. I have two pillows on my bed. What are all those pillows needed for?

It's really not:"why do -girls- [...]?", it is:"Why does that girl have 30 pillows on her bed?".
It's not such a common thing for "girls" that I know of, this is the first time I hear about that at all.
The reason a person might have a lot of pillows is, I assume, decorative only. Like someone said:"It's cute", maybe it reminds her of the coziness of her childhood.
Or maybe, she just actually likes pillows and collects them. If you got in a Discord call with her, probably you can just ask her why.
I have 2, and I would bet most people (girls included) have 1-2. You can start a poll about this though.

... it's cute... lol but seriously, for my partner and I, we have like 7 on our bed and we throw all but 3 off every night when we go to bed. It just looks cute!

The high number of pillows on the bed is discerning to me now. I used to thing it was for cosmetic reasons and pull the room together. Now, I look at those pillows and see hidden cameras. And, the stuff animals too which were not mentioned here.

I sleep with one pillow. My boyfriend gas 2 pillows. We have a spare blue one that's currently somewhere. Plus you csnt have many pillows if you have dogs
