This is a girl who I'm quite sure has psychotic issues. She is a lovely person who has a big heart but she is off her rocker. She called me last week and I spoke to her after not speaking for a month and she was off her rocker again. Could barely make sense of her words and then even had to ask a few times how she got there or who I was. The call was 4 hours long. I would say we both like one another but due to life circumstances never pursued it. She got a boyfriend and I never really bothered after. She doesn't anymore, that has ended now.
After last weeks call, she messaged me on Christmas eve. 'I don't want to get involved with your manager as it is causing my famiy problems so I wish you all the best as you've always been good to me'. I mean I never discussed any manager to her and certainly wouldn't want her involved in my professional life. I replied back the next day saying I wasn't too sure what she was on about and she just said 'Haha, don't worry'.
I'm replying whenever she speaks to me as I feel it's important to be there for her during this tough time. I'm not actively starting any conversations or engaging with her. Any suggestions?

Ummm yeah she sounds a little insane. Um I don't know man, if you don't want to speak with her maybe just block her, butt at the same time, I don't think there's anything you can do to "be there for her". Just for your own sanity maybe just avoid engagement all together 😅
It's hard when people are that ill. They are always the best people to. Just try to keep conversation at a normal level. Be her friend but don't engage so much you get tired. Disappear sometimes online and return. Eventually she will end up in hospital. Visit her if you want to help her. If it's too heavy you have to withdraw and let things take their course. I have a similar relationship with my mother who completely delusional at the moment.
Avoid her.
