So recently I just went to the Nike store and the cashier was looking at me a lot while I was shopping at then they were talking to their co worker (I’m assuming had something to do with me) then when checked out she seemed really happy and asked what I was doing later, of course sadly my anxiety got the best and I said “just chilling how about you” and she said “I’m just working til closing” and after I said oh nice that sounds fun. Win or loss? Ps I don’t really have things like this happen to me often

This is something that is asked a lot. You have to remember that people that work in jobs that require customer interaction are paid to be nice or friendly. It is what keeps people coming back. Imagine this girl was rude and short to you. You may not want to come back to that store.

This goes for any person that works in a service related industry. The one I see misread the most often is bartender/server. People think that they are flirting with them but it is just good customer contact and increase their tips.

Obviously, this is a bit different in a retail setting but the same logic applies. She is most likely being nice to you and every other customer. She wants her superiors to notice her enthusiasm and good skills with customers.

Now, that said, is it entirely possible she was interested? Yes, it is possible. There are always exceptions to the rule. The issue is trying to make something happen with someone who is at work. That is tough.
