How come some girls go after the guy who doesn't want them or entertain them much?

Literally half the college is after her and I have humbly declined her advances towards me several times yet she isn't apparently understanding it.

What actually is the psychology behind such behaviour?

Some girls like chasing guys that initially dont want them. It boosts their ego when they can prove to themselves that she can have anybody. Its just fun and games for those people. Dont give her what she wants.
