What do you think about the idea of going to a bar looking for an unattached guy who will buy you a drink?

Well I think a girl who goes to a bar, gets a drink bought for her and ends up sleeping with a guy was moreso looking to hook up than she was looking for a drink.

I have had a lot of drinks bought for me in these settings and have never had sex with whoever bought them unless I was already dating him. It can be done!

Do you tell the guy upfront - don't expect me to sleep with you for this drink? Or are you more subtle than that?

The drink is usually a surprise. I say thank you and usually chat a few minutes during which I make sure to mention my boyfriend/fiance. I am nice but there is a line I won't cross and that is usually obvious pretty soon. My system is not perfect but I have never had sex in this situation and never gotten hurt or in an argument (other than joking flirty arguments like which college sports team is best or stuff like that). Like I don't say "thank you but I will not sleep with you" but everything I say is based on me knowing I will not sleep with him.
