Why doesn’t she recognize me anymore?

Last summer at university campus I got into an elevator with a group of girls, including a pretty blonde one. As I was checking her out, we made eye contact and she smiled. After they left the elevator, she even turned back and winked at me. Unfortunately I haven’t seen her again until about two weeks ago, when we sat across a huge table in the library. Every time I looked up, she was staring and smiling at me. I smiled back, we did this for about an hour. She was with friends, so I did not approach her, but when they left, she turned around and sent me a little kiss. 3 days ago, again, I walked past her friends group and she looked and smiled at me. The next day, I finally had the chance to catch her alone, so I went up to speak to her, but she responded quite rudely, like:

”Why are you talking to me, do we know each other?” I said not yet, but we’ve seen each other at the library etc..

”It wasn't me”. I described her our previous encounter, what she did, what she was wearing.

”okay, that was me, but I have NEVER seen you before” and she walked away.

Ever since, she just looks at me and turns away without smiling. Im pretty positive that her gestures were towards me, I can't mistake it 3 times. Although I got a haircut recently, it wasn’t a radical change and I’m also sure she doesn’t have a twin sister roaming around.

Well, the twin sister is a possibility and might be the most likely to be honest. I don't know why anyone would go to the lengths this girl did to flirt and then act like it never happened unless she is deranged and did it for sport.

Honestly, I would let this one go. Let's look at it a few ways, including your theory of twin sister which actually and surprisingly would make the most sense.

One, she flirted and flirted and then forgot she did it. Not a likely scenario. If I go to that sort of lengths to flirt, I am not going to forget who I was doing it to. Unless there was the same guy behind you every time and you thought she was flirting with you but it was for him, I don't see this likely.

She did it to ruffle your feathers and make you think she was into you. Okay, she is a lunatic if this is the case and to be avoided. Plain and simple.

She has a twin sister. Shockingly, this makes the most sense but probably the most unlikely. If it is true, goodness what a mixup.

She was just leading you on. Denied everthing when you approached her. Forget her. She was playing games.

You have no backbone. She did everything but take her clothes off for her. She expected immediate move forward in front of friends if you were strong and brave…like Day 1. She’s simply over it. Let her go.
