There’s a woman I know who constantly talks crap about people but she also struggles with alcoholism. How do I navigate this?

She rides at the same riding stable as me and is close with the owners of the riding facility. She is always saying awful things about the other girls and it’s just to me that she confides in. Everyone else thinks she’s a nice person. I’m uncomfortable with telling anyone in case she finds out and retaliates.

Do you have other friends. Does she sometimes praise you, sometimes put you down. Whatever you do don't become dependent on her. Have more friends and support system if you can.

Yeah I have lots of other friends. Me and her used to stay in hotel rooms together so that’s why.

I have no idea what she’d have to say about me. But I bet she’s stir something up.
She told me to my face that my horse is not a National caliber horse. Even though he has wayyy more titles than her horse.

Its probably the constant flow of being under the influence.

She says REALLY mean things. Like calling a girl a snot, trailer trash, a bitch, etc. even saying another mom got a sugar daddy to pay for things. It’s personal and degrading.
And she drives under the influence back to the hotel room. And her daughter told me she was scared.

Yeah if she's drinking that much she probably isn't aware of what she says. Think that half way point between blackout drunk and awake.
