Why do women wear makeup?

Is it self esteem thing to make your self feel pretty or beautiful or for attention or even being notice or is it society thing that have been told to you by tv or someone?

1. to feel pretty, its a good feeling when you see the mirror and feeling attractive
2. to hide insecurities. Some girls do makeup to enchance their features and hide things they don’t like, such as pimple , dark spot, or bigger forehead
3. Wearing makeup in public becomes a norm. So i ask my friend why she always wear makeup everywhere she goes, the answer is because “everyone wear it” especially on formal and semi casual events. Not because she feel insecure, or ask for attention but because its a weird feeling go out with bareface, like something is missing
4. yeah some women wear makeup to impress people, either male or female

I don’t why most men as for myself I’m curious upon other people point of view of life I know my life but I wonder how others see life.
