Why do girls go through a slut phase after they leave their loving boyfriend to "experience life"?

Girls in their 20s who have a boyfriend, often leave their loving boyfriend who would do everything for her about 2.5 years into the relationship to "experience life" or "have fun" and then they get fucked by random guys at parties or who they meet in clubs or on the streets. Leaving their ex-boyfriends heartbroken, depressed and sometimes suicidal.

Why do women do this?

Do women experience remorse?

Do women ever regret doing this?

I can't see this as a "trend" but sure that happens, although I think it's more common in men who feel most often trapped into a relationship and can't picture to spend their whole life with one woman before trying many options before. And I think this is the same that goes through women's mind as well.
Not only that: if that relationship was her first experience, she probably had a sexual epiphany during that, finally removed a lot of chains regarding female sexuality most women are grown with and realizes she wants to know herself and her options better.
However that is not always the case for sure, there are couples that last during their 20s and that lead to a marriage even, and there are also women who are just so heartbroken after a breakup they don't want to see a man in a mile range anymore for a while. There are also women who don't see casual hookups as satisfying or interesting, and so they wouldn't do that after a breakup. So it's not something like "why do girls" but it's more of a specific case scenario.
And I think those women don't regret or feel remorse, they probably enjoy the sex they are trying to get, in the lifestyle they chosen. Maybe sometimes missing the benefits of the previous guy like stability and a constant emotive support, familiarity etc. But after a while anyone moves on from the past... What you shouldn't do if to allow her to play with your feelings, so if you are hurt by this breakup she initiated (and so, she took responsibility on), don't accept her back if she comes back crying for attention and care with all her apologies and stuff. She must take responsibility over her decisions, don't reward the opposite otherwise you declare it the norm.
If you wonder if she misses you, we can't know that, because we don't know if she broke up with you in order to get that sexual lifestyle, or, if she would have broke up anyway due to conflicts and lack of satisfaction in general, maybe lack of your understanding or cooperation, trust issues that stacked up over time etc.
That sucks but if you track what went wrong in your relationship from your side you might make the next one much better, with acquired skills to prevent similar problems. You can't prevent her lifestyle after a breakup but you can prevent the relationship to degenerate in disconnection, boredom, unenthusiastic activities, heavy dynamics, trust issues etc. Relationships require skills... "Love" alone is not sufficient.
The only positive note here is that instead of cheating on you she took the responsibility to break up first, then opening herself to others. If anything there is some degree of respect there, she probably knew she wasn't able to give you anything anymore and keeping you under that illusion would have been unfair.

Most women I know have left their boyfriends because their boyfriends were the sluts. That “loving boyfriend” narrative is non existent. Most relationships end because of infidelity on the man’s part.

What you are talking about is a phenomena that both Sex go through. Both Male and Female have these trigger points where we want to "sow your oats". It is always decision time at these moments. The girls have been fed that they are all-powerful in these days and they behave like the Media tells them too disregarding all etiquette and morality. That being said, Males are absolutely no better as we make babies, leave the households, and provide no support. This whole dynamic you are referencing can be laid at the foot of men for the last 40 plus years of irresponsibility and breaking apart of the family.
