Do ladies have a harder time apologizing?

I have dated quite a bit, and something I have noticed a lot is most of the women I have dated have found it almost impossible to actually say the words "I'm sorry". Even if they know they are wrong. I think I've heard it from 2 women, maybe 5 times in total.

More often than not if I have an issue that I bring up, it becomes about how I said it, when I said it, or what I said specifically, how it hurt their feelings, etc. and suddenly I am the one in trouble. They pull the sympathy card or try to act cute instead of just owning up to their shitty behavior.

Anyone else notice this? Ladies do you realize you are doing it, when you are doing it? I know people are gonna say, not all, but I've heard enough guys say this.

I do apologize. I have apologized to my boyfriend for saying something in anger. I have apologized to him for not taking his feelings into account.

Anyone who doesn't apologize has very little empathy and compassion. You have to be aware of how someone else might feel in order to apologize properly. You have to be able to see hurt in someone's eyes, and to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

Pride stands in the way of apologies. Some people equate apologies with loss of something that they value. If they apologize, that means admitting that they or their behavior was pretty bad. It means acknowledging that you hurt someone. Some people can't tolerate the uncomfortable feeling of guilt, so they lash out or hole up and refuse to become vulnerable enough to apologize. Because when you apologize, you're giving the other person power to forgive you or not. Some people are too self-protective to exchange power for a good relationship.

I have no problem apologizing for something I've done or said that calls for an apology (not everything does). But then again, I also try to avoid doing or saying things I would need to apologize for.

I think its pretty even between men and women personally. I think we tend to experience bias because when are just dating random people, we all (men and women) gravitate towards physically attractive people. However I think physically attractive people above average fail to openly acknowledge bad behaviors since they can use their looks to get out of most minor disputes. But the closer you drift to average appearances you start finding a lot more people insecure and often overly apologetic.

I would say yes. Women, if anything, hate to be wrong about something, called on it, take accountability and apologize to the individual who was actually right. They hate it. They absolutely fucking hate admitting being wrong.

Most would rather die than apologize. They rather dismiss the situation and pretend as if it never happened. They are always right even when they are fucking wrong.

I'd say women have it harder to apologize as its the constant need to seem perfect. Like one of my favorite points and arguments related to this topic is why use make up if its not the real you and thats what most guys who are into dating are after.

I've ended relationships over this one. I bought into the "you can either be right or happy" bullshit early on, but that's a fool's mentality. I admit when I'm wrong, and I expect the same from her. If she isn't up to that level of maturity, we're not compatible.

When people spout that shit at me, I respond with "That really means you can be her little bitch or you can be an asshole, and I've made my choice in advance."

Yep. They gaslight instead of apologizing. They'll twist information in a way that makes everyone else wrong and never accept consequences for things.

When I accidentally hit my friend in the head with an apple, I did nothing but apologize. When I almost broke my friends nose by rough housing, I apologized and bought her a gift.
