Why do women always feel like a house has to be used in a certain way?

Like the dining room... why can't I just turn that into a gym. There's a fucking table in the kitchen already. We don't have dinner parties, so what's the point of having a second table for no reason?

Make the living room the kid's room and turn that bedroom into the real living room. Why does it just have to be so cookie-cutter? Someone is going to get slapped if they even suggest I put my weights in the Garage.

Military family, we have to move every 3 years and there is no remodeling or real ownership of these places. But how we set the house up is a reoccurring battle. I always get my way, since I'm the one left behind in the place sometimes for a year at a time.

I'm more curious as to why there is such a strong desire to be like everybody else or to do things just like everybody else does.
