So long story short, I matched with this girl on tinder and we had instant chemistry. We FaceTimed and texted for about 2 weeks unfortunately because we’re both really busy with work and also wrapping up school. During the past two weeks I’ve learned a lot about her, including the fact that she’s been cheated on twice and not currently ready for a relationship, so I told her I just wanna be friends for now.

Since we established that, she told me she deleted her tinder and a bunch of other promising stuff, but it also seems like she’s testing me. She’ll bring up all these guys giving her attention which is kinda annoying, and yesterday when we went out for the first time, she did it again and told me about dates she went on where the guys failed to get her, or other miscellaneous stuff about guys trying to get her attention. I don’t know what to do. Is she texting me in some weird way or is it a lost cause.

You need to stop tip-toeing around the fact that you like this girl.

If you want to date her, then ask her out. If she says no, then move on. Pretty simple, you are overcomplicating it because you really like her. I get it, I've been there before.

You are going to ruin it if you just wait around. No woman respects a man that pretends to be ok being friends, you will be viewed as basically her gay best friend.

Lay your cards on the table, and be prepared to walk away. I know it sounds scary, but it truly is the way to go. No amount of terrible relationships will keep a woman that is genuinely interested away from a man she wants to be with.

Now all that being said. You say she says she isn't ready, yet she is out there dating and telling you about it. Sounds like you already waited too long. She views you as the friend.

For this girl. I think you handle it this way. Plan a date for you two. All the details, buy the tickets, etc. You don't have to call it a date, but tell her you want to take her out. And use those words. If she says ok, then you need to make it romantic. You need to make moves on her, this girl is the type that won't respect a man unless you go for it, so do it. Don't apologize if she turns you down, just let it go and have a good night.

If she says no, then ask some other girl and go with her. Or just one of your friends. And post pics. She will respect the fact that you went anyway, didn't change your plans for her.

But really I think you should just walk away from this girl.

Be straightforward, ask if she's doing it on purpose or not. You told her honestly so she should be honest with you, if she's doing it on purpose she might've developed some big insecurities about relationships which is why she's testing you and that means it most likely only gets worse during relationship so whether you're up for dealing with that is up to you but you both should be honest and get on the same page. But if she's not doing it on purpose you should still tell her it's making you uncomfortable (set at least some boundaries), if she's reasonable, she'll understand it.
