A sort of baptizing process for the bros. It is a service or a well meant warning if you will. On the other hand, can you really blame the opposite sex for it? I'm certain you'd trade in your VW for a Toyota or whatever makes you happier. When today's "forever and ever, never leaving you" means "we are over, F off, go die, i don't fking care" tomorrow, then that means being 5 Years together is as good as being 5 days together. Expect the unexpected. Always.

My theory: Women expect men to do certain things and to behave in a certain way. I don't mean the ways that loud mouth feminist claim. I mean all of the traditional stuff that make even feminists fee all warm & fuzzy like being a protector, leader, provider. The less you are those things in her mind the less important it is to keep the relationship. You could be everything she wants today... but not tomorrow. Of course her ability to get a better guy would also factor in. And I'm not talking about for sex but for a serious relationship.

There's probably a reason why society used to strictly enforce ideas like spouses should be loyal and punishment for violating that was very harsh. BECAUSE people will stray (more likely) without social pressures. Not all people, but many

no. There is more to what you are writing.

Some will. it's not about better, though. If you continually pick girls like this... e. g. there is a dark cloud hoving over you, then the issue is you, not them.

That said, women are people, they need their needs met or they will bail. Some of these women will tear you to shreds inside, so really gotta be aware of "her" and if you can handle her.

Pretty true but men do it too when they can get someone hotter they do so and when they can't they end up suffocating the girl by being too jealous / possessive (which I will admit is pretty justified not surprising but it always end badly).

I think men who say this are projecting their own lack of ethics onto women. They are the same idiots who claim that sexually active women are incapable of bonding.
It's a way of rationalizing their low opinion of women.

This statement has always made me think. Is what we perceived as better the same as what they're perceiving as better? Is it appearance based, income, how attentive someone is or more independent. I think we're all that way to some degree. If you've got a super clingy girlfriend and another woman who's a lot more mature and independent comes along and offers you a chance with her would you really just stay with your clingy girl because you met her first?
