Need some advice?

I am an Inspector for the state, I went to this salon to inspect and the owner and I like to talk about fishing as we have met before, she is very friendly. Her friend is sitting in the salon, who also owns a salon that I also inspected only once tho. I ask the friend not to leave yet as I was going to give her my business card. She just comes over to me and asks if I want her number, I said yes. She calls me when I’m on the way home. She says you thought I wouldn’t call huh. It was to setup an inspection but it also feels like she is interested as I called her today and she answered the phone by using my name. So my name and number are already in her phone. Should I keep it professional or is she flirting with me and interested? I’m a guy who is 50 and she is in her 40’s and went through a divorce. I mean the context was about her salon but she just willingly offered up her number and then called me. Any advice would be helpful.

If you are an inspector and are on official business inspecting various places, then you should keep it strictly professional with this person.

Since she owns the type of business you have to inspect, you have to keep the relationship on a strict professional type and not involve personal feelings because one could think that she is trying to bribe you to approve her business or whatever you have to investigate.

Never involve feelings with your job because your judgment is no longer impartial.
