It's not race... it's regional. I've been to 46 states, and the places with the most overweight people-also have the highest black population-AND is the most sparsely populated part of the country-the South. It's because there's a lot of land mass, but it doesn't have a high population density. Everyone has a yard and BARBECUE. Which is just loads and loads of fattening lard. In San Francisco, L. A. or the NE... you're hard pressed to find a barbecue ANYWHERE... because people are smashed in like ants together, you don't have the space. Where are you going to hold your cookout? On the tiny outdoor patio of the 37th floor of your building?👀Outside of the Presidio and GGP... there's no grass in San Francisco! Pavement, pavement, more pavement. The total opposite of Alabama or South Carolina. Even a highly populated of the South (Texas) pales in comparison. It has 29 million people. But just FOUR neighboring COUNTIES in SoCal have over 20 million by themselves.😬Where it's rural, people cookout... full meals... lots of saturated fat, grease. And they're overweight. Black girls in Seattle aren't built ANYTHING LIKE they are in Louisiana. 2 totally different areas by population density. People in Louisiana eat more BBQ in a week than folks in Seattle do in a year.

It's selective breeding. In Africa the culture for probably thousands of years or more considered skinny women to be unhealthy and less likely to survive. Heavier women with bigger hips, bone structures and more body fat on their bones were considered healthier, more likely to survive and more attractive. Hence African men were more attracted to women with this body type, produced more offspring with them who inherited that body type and so on and so on until a greater proportion of black women had large bone structures and thicker, heavier bodies.

Nahhhh... Western/European culture favors slim women. They are trying to force a change by propagandizing African womens' body types in the media as the ideal, but it's not working. Most European heritage men don't like fat women, they like them slim and small boned.

As it turns out the African belief that fat is healthy doesn't apply in today's world. Back then, in a primitive world it made sense since people usually lived short lives anyway. And survival was about getting calories and not starving to death. But today, with better hygienic, nutritional and medical practices people live longer and a lean body is the healthiest type. Therefore, if one race has bigger hips, that only means they have wider bodies. It is either that or else a considerably higher percentage of black girls are closer to the ideal and that would make their wider hips more noticeable since you see it more often.

Big girls with big waists don't appear to have big hips. Instead, they appear to be fat.

I don't know if this is true but it sounds scientifically plausible.

I was told once that is has to do with body fat distribution. In warmer climates bodies need a way of dissipating heat more efficiently than cold climates. And having most of your body fat concentrated in one are (the butt). Makes that more efficient.
