I don't think you got friendzoned. You said she side hugged you in public, so I'm assuming there were others around who could see. You also have to keep in mind that females tend to be more self-conscious in public and can be nervous about others seeing them talking to a guy, so maybe that was why she did it. But don't give up hope like that, dude.
