I am EXTREMELY long patience down to earth sort of person. Hardly reactionary.

But this guy is starting to act as if I am high maintenance, as if he has to tread delicately, and it's really getting tiresome. Not annoying, I am just seeing him digging his own hole.

Particularly when he'll text something and it doesn't quite relate.

That example is pretty terrible to be honest😂what does that have to do with being high maintenance? I guess meeting your father is a nerve racking thing as he will want to have his favour I would assume anyway, I have never had to think about that as non of my ex girlfriends was in contact with there dad. But it would probably be the most anxious part of the family meet wanting to get along with your dad but wanting to be his authentic self also I'm not him so I can't say how he will be thinking I have learned if my genuine self isn't enough I'm not gonna pretend to be someone else to win anyones approval if I'm not enough that's their problem.

what you described barely touches onnwether high maintenance or not. things like clothes you buy, var, majeup, home, jewelry, perfumes, purses, shopping trip amounts (both how often and how expensive) would be the strong indicators.
