In some cities it would be a good idea to carry one. But sometimes carrying a gun makes you more bold to argue with someone who doesn't want to take shit from anyone, and that could end in gunplay. So it's a fine line whether to carry or not to carry.

It's hard to get a firearm license here but I think I would if it wasn't that much of a hassle. Few of my friends have them for house protection.
