My guess is people are only praising "dad bods" sarcastically.

Honestly I’ve never seen that really in society where women who have had children were shamed for their bodies. To me the whole dad bod was a joke, mainly in response to a lot of women would complain men just stare at their bodies. So it wasn’t so much a thing that was taken serious. It was for laughter. I’ve always heard of women who didn’t want men w that particular body type, so that made it even more of a joke when men starting calling it a dad bod.
I have never seen "dad bods" praised as the term is used by women to mock the 99% of men who don't have sixpacks. And men aren't going to like and praise fat women with stretch marks just because you think they should anymore than bikini models are going to like basement dwelling guys.
I don't know... I watch a lot of girls with mom bods on porn. I only watch amateur, and a ton of those girls have had babies. Still hot though and no shaming coming from me :)
It is called sexism. I find it hilarious that the folks who shame women for being overweight or out of shape, also shame women for showing off their fit bodies and sexy curves.
It’s so disturbing the amount of women I’ve seen who literally have their own husbands shamming them for how their body looks after they just had a whole child
Too much emphasis on looks in the world. A world that needs love and consideration and not trying to look like Hollywood stars. Women have too much expected of them which is not fair.
Because mothers get severe trauma to their body from the stretching, tearing and/or cuts while dads had a few more beers. Not to mention that we don't really give a fuck how a dude looks, he's either a 10 or a whatever.
I dunno. I used to be really in shape. Once I became a father and had to work more and spends my free time with my family I stopped working out and lost definition and size. While I’m not fat and I’m not ripped either, I’m just in a “okay” state. I consider that my dad bod.
I fail to see how that's got anything to do with been a father. That's more just not working out and eating in such way that causes you to put on some weight. And how that idea is praise worthy I will never know.
@Kaneki05 it isn’t a scientific term. It’s just a slang kinda term. Couples usually mimic one another. When you first start dating you usually are both in your prime. But as you grow together and or start a family sometimes both of you get comfortable and fall from your prime. I think for men it can be referred to as a dad bod. Or as another person it’s like a middle aged man that isn’t out of shape but not in prime shape.

No but this guy definitely is.
@DextroShade because he gave me a compliment? That makes him a simp
Lol I love mom bods so I don't know where this comes from
So many ignorant comments on this post. Lots of women like dad bods, and lots of people have no problem with mom bods.

Coz somehow we always hav to look like models or they lose interest in us...

I've not seen society to actually praise dad bods. Perhaps that's a regional thing? They're just seen as lazy men here.
Nah some people do praise them
Well right, but "some people" collect ear wax as a hobby. Are there a LOT of those people where you live? I wonder why the difference exists.
Why do bullies bully? Some people are just not nice. Society is made up of unkind people. That is why some people get shamed.
I would be ashamed of taking my shirt of if I looked like that not gonna lie
Does it? I've barely heard people hate on mom bods specifically, but rather certain body types for anyone.
I do agree there is a difference between the two.
Everyone is beautiful in there own way, you can blame the media for the shaming that goes on now days

Because dads work hard to get their bids…. lol. It is had being a couch potato and doing those 12 oz beer curls…. lol. J/k

I care about how guys look lol.
10 or whatever is not my rating scale 😂
Of course you care, but much less than guys.
I don't know why. Mom bods are hot. I prefer them over "pre-mom" bods, honestly
I have no idea. There's nothing wrong with a mom bod
Umm dad bods don't exist.
A guy getting a girl pregnant does not effect the guy at all physically.

That’s not what she means, dad bod usually refers to like middle aged men’s bodies usually having pudgier bellies and stuff

It’s just the term people use. It’s praised because some find it attractive
