Why would two students who are dating not sit next to each other in a lecture?

They talk every time since they have assignments together and do stuff together since they are dating but they never sit next to each other during the lecture. They always sit directly in front or behind the other and the girl occasionally glances at me. Why?

Maybe because a healthy relationship means that you don't have to be glued to each other 24/7. When I'm in my lectures, I also do have my preferred seat for various reasons that I'm not gonna give up just because my boyfriend is in the same class. It's also distracting in some cases.

So you would chose to sit for example directly behind your boyfriend?

And would you at least greet your boyfriend when he arrives?

If that's an option, maybe. I like to have my peace in lectures and wouldn't actively go out of my way to sit close to him just for the sake of it.

No they are not, I saw them talking after that and they seem quite attracted to each other. The guy used to have a crush on me and he knows that I used To admire him from afar too but none of us ever got the courage to approach the other
