Girls, is it weird if you received a letter with text saying that I'm interested in getting to know her?

For context, I find a girl really cute that it is in 1st year of the same major as me in university, I want to talk to her but don't know the best approach without being creepy, it is better a letter or just approaching her and saying like "hi! You are on the same major as me, are you liking it so far?", what you think?

No don't send a letter. That feels somehow stalkerish to me personally. You are better off doing it the way not people do and approaching her and saying hi and what's up? Sending a letter would literally freak me out. There might be other girls that would find that cute but you are rolling the dice on that one. Where do typically see this girl? Is it in class or around campus? If you are in the same major that might be a good way of breaking the ice. You already have something in common with her. You could even suggest studying if you have the same courses.

We are mostly on the same hall since is only for our specific major, the problem is that when I see her, she is with a group and I'm also a very introvert guy, that's why I thought of a letter. But I agree with your opinion and honestly in my opinion is the best natural approach. Is it okay to exchange contact in the first conversation? If I found her that she is interest in talking of course

Yes it is okay to exchange contact. What I suggest tho for guys wanting to do that is to offer yours instead of asking for hers. If she gives it to you great. If she isn't comfortable you didn't make it weird by asking. You just offered yours and put the ball in her court.

A letter from an unknown person is really not the one a girl wants to receive. First, how would that person know my address? Only the administrator of my educational establishment, my family and my closest friends (besides the tax people) know my address. I do not communicate it with anyone.

If I receive a letter, that would mean that someone has been stalking me because I always ensure that nobody is following me. Unless that person has placed a GPS tracker in my trousers or coat, I don't know how that person was able to find out my address. Since I don't carry a purse, I don't see where else that GPS tracker could have been placed.

Your better option would be to approach that target person and talk to her. However, this may come across as needy or creepy because we all know why a stranger would approach a girl out of nowhere.
