Why do women or feminists believe that having a job and/or being independent is awesome?

What is so fulfilling about having a job and being independent. What is so bad about taking care of your children, your husband, and your household?

I mean in this current economy it's not relly viable to just stay home with the kids unless your husband brings home 100k+ and even then you might struggle, especially with multiple kids so... why would women want that? And why would men want that?

Personally I think being 100% dependent on anyone (a man, your parents, etc) in adulthood is setting yourself up for failure cause you never know when the person who provides will do you wrong (cheat on you, abuse you, disrespect you, and so on and so forth). I'm not even speaking on what could happen after a divorce...
