Normal people understand that while a relationship might be better than detached time away from the partner, the partner's absence is not as interesting as the detached life you had before you got into a relationship. Only somebody with no sense of meaning or purpose would disagree. If you would rather wait and beg for attention then play a game of chess or ride a bike when he is busy then you are mentally ill.
