Wife response: when we were in our first couple months of dating he had asked me to join him for a date on some day and I told him that I had picked up a shift at work. He asked me why and I told him that I was a bit short for rent + utilities not a lot short but paychecks had landed poorly. He said to cancel that shift and come on the date and I wouldn't be disappointed. I was already really happy so I decided to take the chance. He give me $5k on the spot and said "now you can pay in advance if you want or get yourself something nice." He never asked for it back he never brought it up. I asked him why he was doing this for someone who had only known for a couple months and he just said "because I love you and you needed help" well we have 3 kids now and he has always made me feel so loved I can only hope I make him feel as loved and supported as he makes me feel.

@Contam wife response: it was about why he gave it to me. He saw I needed help and helped me without expecting anything in return. He could have picked a different day for the date and I would have gone regardless. It was the selflessness of it that made me feel loved.

@_piotr don't know but she needed help and I was in a position to help. I have had more than enough money for most of my life so helping out a woman I am in a relationship with is small. I have spent/given away money to most of the people I am friends with including those that I help get out of homelessness. End of the day we married and now have 3 beautiful children and she is a stay at home mom. I am a stay at home dad and I keep myself busy by making changes to our homes. I didn't think that moment was that big but for her it meant a lot.
