Girls who have had a child. . . how did that experience change your life?

Men are merely observers to the relationship that develops between a mother and a child and they only thing a man can say with certainty is that - of course - a father-child relationship is not the same as the mother-child relationship. So, ladies, how did the pregnancy and birth of your first child change you?

hey, in all honesty, the biggest thing i learned in our society and that includes my own family. The truth the bare awful truth is not talked about, the physical and the mental/emotional impacts from the start of pregnancy continued throughout motherhood... in pregnancy all women are given a birthing plan, to think about and complete, well what a load of tosh, the truth should be told that the best thing is to understand all avenues that may happen because most do not end up with the plan they think they are going to have... it is part of the system to keep women in a state of calm whereas it backfires and i believe it is wrong... the utter truth that it will be the most painful experience of your life and the pain is unbearable... but if you take the pain free option like epidural, there is a risk to your spinal cord and sciatica is a very common lifelong issue afterwards, makes sense too! along that route usually ends up with at least the vontouse suction cap, then if not back to 1800s forceps!! along with that goes episiotomy a serious scapel cut from the vagina toward the inner thigh therefore allowing enough room, for two fricking forceps around the babys head... that my friend is an experience not to think about... i had a son who was born with no soft spot, his head was born round, not cone shaped it didn't mould... he was almost 9lbs and that damage from birth the stitches etc easily a month i was still using a birthing cushion to sit on... he was damaged during childbirth, a haematoma the size of my hand on the back of his skull, due to their incompetence, leaving me 24hrs after my water broke, sending me home, then panick call me in and put me straight on labour forcing medication via drip..12hrs later and sent to special care for the first seven days, it destroyed me, i had depression upon leaving the hospital at day 10 when i discharged myself and my son... due to this trauma i decided to have my next at home in a birthing pool rather than opt for a c section, she was 9lb 5oz and looked like a spartan baby... i was so proud of this giant girl i birthed.. she breast fed from me within minutes of being born and again was spartan like, she was a monster feeder... this birth healed my awful first medical birth experience... i am a great believer women are far better off at home with experienced midwifes... giving birth somewhere strange with all that interference causes at least half the problems i believe. xxxx

I finally was able to have my childhood dream come true. I wanted to be a mother since I was little and used to play with my dolls. I loved talking care of them, holding them, loving them just like when I finally gave birth to my son.
I fell so in love with him from the minute he was born. I loved being his Mom and I still do.

I had to work full-time because I was a divorced single mom. But during my off time I always spent time with my son.

He didn't ask to be born. He was very much planned. I always wanted to raise him to be what he was born to be naturally (and I don't mean gender!).

We both have a great sense of humor so we always laughed a lot. He would crack me up.

We always hugged and told each other we love each other. I wanted to make sure he felt loved.

I taught him very good manners, and to be appreciative when ever someone does something for him. That has served him well in life. He wasn't a brat, so I enjoyed him very much.

Having my son changed my life in a good way.
