Girls, My ex has invited me for drinks. what could the motives be?

My ex and I have been separated for over a year now. Today she messaged me and she asked me if I want to meet for drinks tomorrow. Either coffee, cocktails, or something sweet. She says she just wants to check in but for the last year she has shown no interest in what was happening in my life. I wonder if she is wanting to meet to check in on me but also if there might something else under the surface. Like evaluating me. Anyone with experience would be greatly appreciated

- She's curious how you're doing and wants to catch up, but might also be testing the waters to see if you'd be interested in getting back together. Maybe her current situation isn't going so great.

- She could be feeling lonely or missing the attention you used to give her. Meeting up would give her an ego boost even if she's not fully committed to reconciling.

- Possibly even wants to make you jealous by flirting with you in front of new friends or a date, to make herself seem desirable.

I'd say keep your guard up if you do meet. Feel her out without committing to anything relationship-wise. See how the convo goes and what she really wants to discuss. If she's vague or evasive about her own life that's a red flag.

Don't get sucked back in emotionally if you're not fully over her yet. Protect your heart man. But sharing a friendly drink could give you closure too. Just be careful! Let me know how it goes.
