This is probably a dumb question but oh well. We were texting on and off for a couple of hours then I texted him I was going to bed. He replied goodnight! What does it mean when a guy says goodnight first ? Is it just a friendly thing or is he interested in me?
What does a guy mean by a goodnight text?
A guy sending a goodnight text is definitely thinking about you before he goes to bed. It shows that he cares about you and wants to stay in touch. The string of characters might just be a way to say goodnight, but to the recipient, it means so much more.
A goodnight text from a guy can also be seen as a way of him trying to start a conversation. It might be his way of flirting or simply trying to get to know you better. If you respond to his goodnight text, it shows that you're interested in him too.
So, what does a guy mean by a goodnight text? It could mean he's thinking about you, he cares about you, or he's interested in you. Whatever the case may be, it's always nice to receive a goodnight text from someone you care about.
so this guy i have a crush on always tells me "goodnight sweet dreams text me tomorrow if you want 😊" and i reply the same thing and say yeah ill text you tomorrow this time i told him goodnight sweet dreams text me tomorrow if you want and he replied with "goodnight😊" is that bad is he annoyed?
If you are texting someone and say your going to bed and you get the reply goodnight it literally means goodnight as in goodbye! Very hard to read any more into it than that.
He may be interested. A dude I know just goes "k." Seems pretty uninterested to me compared to an enthusiastic goodnight. :)
When I text goodnight to a girl it means something, I really like you, I love you, I miss you, but honestly I'm to nervous to say it. If I say good morning that means I can't wait to see you again, I'm thinking of you etc...
It's a friendly thing but I only text this much with girls I'm interested in.

when i say gud night🌃. it means good night only. like it's time to end the conversation for the night. It's a polite and respectful way to let the other person know that you need to go to sleep or take care of other important matters.)

Could be interpreted either way. It's related to the previous text, so it's not like it was out of the blue. Once he starts sending you goodnight texts when you haven't even texted him, then you know he is interested in you.

If you texted him that you were going to bed, of course the nice thing to do is to say goodnight. If you were texting him for a while he may be interested, but I don't think just because he said goodnight means anything.
