Are women just polite when they compliment me?

Whenever I go to work, a lot of women will say “wow you look really pretty”. I generally don’t compliment them a lot but I usually get called beautiful and pretty by women. However men have never said that to me. Some men I have dated have called me pretty but a guy I really like has approached me to hookup but doesn’t wanna date me so I’m guessing he doesn’t find me pretty/attractive.
I get so many compliments from women about my dressing style, my looks, my personality, I’m not sure if they are just being nice and polite or if they actually mean it. Cause if they mean it, why do only women see it and men don’t? I’m a woman.

You're asking if you're pretty but we got no idea what you look like so I meann? I guess they could be telling you the truth?

As to why guys don't do it, it could be a lot of reasons. Shyness, intimated. Or you just aren't as pretty as they're seeming to make you believe

But if you're getting in relationships I guess you have to be some what attractive I guess?

I hear it a lot from both men and women, but the women tend to come off as more genuine.
