She's driving me crazy, but the scary thing that it might just come down to me driving myself crazy.
I've known her for about a year, but we really didn't talk. We went with a couple friends for lunch a few months ago and when we talked there, she seemed pretty cool, we had the same interests, and she seemed my type of girl. We talked a couple times after that in the following weeks (I'd initiate conversations) and then when we were off school for break, I asked her if she wanted to go to the zoo with me via phone.
I never got a response from her. So I thought it was over. Then when she saw me at school 3 days later, she came up to me and asked if she ever replied. I said no. She said oops. (which is weird and threw me off guard...I mean, how do you not know if you didn't reply?). Then she said she went home to her parents house over break. But she didn't indicate whether she'd like to make new plans, so I dropped it.
After three weeks of pretty much not talking to each other, she began showing up at club meetings I put together. Two times she came up to me and began talking to me. But it was a busy time period for me and since we were about to head into a month-long vacation, I didn't do anything.
When we returned from that vacation, during which we didn't contact each other via phone at all, we didn't talk to each other for the first couple days. I texted her and we had a decent conversation. After that, we talked once in person, but mostly she hasn't really been milling around trying to talk to me. She seems OK not doing it, and sometimes just blatantly walks away or doesn't look if I'm in the vicinity.
So I don't know what to do. The thing is, about a year ago, I knew she had a boyfriend, and she was all gaga for him even when they weren't together. But that broke off rather quickly and the reason why I'm not making a move is because I don't see a level of interest in her that's equivalent to that she had with that guy, which makes me think that she's not interested. So I don't want to ask her again if I don't have a chance; I'd rather just save face, especially since I asked her once before and I didn't even get a timely reply.
