Interaction with girl at gas station. Flirting or nothing?

I had an interaction with a girl at the gas station. I am wondering if anything was there or just my imagination.

I pulled in and a cute girl was pumping gas to my left. She finished as I was getting there. I did a few things and then left my vehicle. I was naturally facing her and we made eye contact. She was looking down and we caught each other's eye. She looked away quick and looked back to me quick. It was like a surprised look like I caught her attention and she was checking me out. I normally downplay any attention from girls so if I think she was checking me out it seems obvious to me that she was. I smile.

I pump gas and I'm blocked by the pump. The normal amount of time, maybe five minutes. I can't see her but she is still there. She hung around probably ten minutes longer than normal because I thought she was leaving as I pulled in. I finish pumping gas and I see from my peripheral vision that she is fidgeting with stuff in her car still. She is looking for stuff in her purse for like 8 minutes without ever accomplishing anything. It just looks like she is pretending to be busy. I get in my car and do a few things. It's time for me to leave and I am headed in her direction. I look over to see if she is going. She has her purse in her hand and is still fidgeting. When I look at her, she looks at me, immediately puts her purse down, and then we continue to look at each other. It seemed like she was pretending to be busy with her purse and immediately stopped when I looked at her. I just looked like who's going first and then left. She left right after me. Pretty anti-climactic. But it felt like there was something there. It looked like she checked me out and stayed longer than normal pretending to be busy. She then was immediately not busy and tried to make eye contact with me. But how would it have played out any different? Does it sound like it would have been alright to start a conversation with her? Was this anything or am I just imagining things?

As I was typing it it did seem kind of bad. It was more in person than it comes across in this question. I don't know, Not really about desperation. It was more about getting different views on what just happened. She definitely seemed interested in me for some reason. And by interested i dont necessarily mean she was flirting. I mean that she was paying attention to me for some reason. It wasn't really an ordinary interaction at the gas station. So no, im not really desperate that I need it to be something. More so just curious what that was about.
