What is the point for a girl to go through the trouble of going through a talking phase and dating phase with a guy to get an ex jealous?

I recently met a girl that was a single mother.


She asked me if I had an issue with that concept and I told her given my age, it doesn’t bother me. So long as the father is out of the picture.


Long story short I noticed clues to pointed to the fact she was using me to make her ex jealous. Why would a girl do this (besides obviously still having feelings for the guy) ?

The purpose of intentionally trying to make a guy jealous is because if you're successful, you'll usually have him in the palm of your hand from then on. Even if I wasn't interested in her before, if I know she's trying to make me jealous, she'll have me just falling at her feet, every single time 😘👣

Yeah, the only reasonable explanation is that they created a daughter together.

But given the facts that she disclosed to me nothing was adding up.

Well, for starters I noticed her IG was public just before I followed her, resulting in me needing to request it.

She showed an awkward/uncomfortable response when I made a comment how it’s a bad sign when the kid’s father is still in the picture because in most cases this means the parents are still intimate on occasion.

Then she told me that her and her daughter’s dad are “on good terms” and she said he has a new girlfriend, she has full custody and also has a restraining order on the guy… see how all those facts don’t line up?

Oh yeah that makes sense, I think for sure she’s still in contact with her baby daddy bcs they’re s on good terms like she said. If you’re dealing someone who is a single parent, more likely than not their kid’s father/mother would still be in the picture.

Still it’s so deceitful for someone to play pretend and act all interested in you only to use you to make their ex jealous. You deserve better.

That’s why I told her I couldn’t proceed. She said I was drawing assumptions, but I’m a very observant individual. Too observant, that the most superficial details stick out to me. Nothing gets past me without me noticing.
