Does she want my attention or just super shy?

I can't read this girl's behavior. I know her for about a year or so, and I got her number a month ago and she ghosted me. It has been a month since then and, I kinda got over her. Now a friend of her tells me things like after she ghosted me she kept telling her friends I am handsome, dress well, smell amazing, and have great personality. Why would she praise me to her friends, and keep talking about me if she ghosted me.. and ghost me when I ask her out? maybe she is just seeking attention? or playing too many games or super shy?

Man that is weird behavior for sure. Hard to say exactly what her deal is without knowing her personally. A few things it could be:

- She might be shy. Like genuinely likes you but gets nervous about the actual dating part. Some girls get weird like that when they like a guy.

- Attention seeking. Telling her friends all that stuff about you to make it seem like she's not into you even though she is. Just wants the compliments I guess.

- Playing games. Maybe she's the kind of girl who likes the chase but loses interest once a guy actually asks her out. Likes keeping you hooked a little bit.

- Changed her mind. Even after saying all that nice stuff maybe she just doesn't see you that way romantically in the end.

My best guess would be she likes the attention of talking you up, but gets too shy/nervous when it comes to actually going out. But who knows? Girls are weird man.

If I were you, I'd maybe try talking to her again just casually at first - like start back at the friend stage. See how she reacts without putting any pressure on the dating part yet. That could help figure out if she's just shy or playing games or what. But don't invest too much until she shows you more consistent interest, ya know?
