Why does this shy girl talk to female friends more?

I like a girl at work who is abit shy. I have noticed recently that she is more comfortable and more talkative talking to her fellow female friends.

When she is talking to me or other guys, she seems abit more shy and doesn't say as much. Why is this?

It might have nothing to do with you. She’s just that: shy. She knows her friends better and there’s trust already built so she feels more comfortable around them. As someone who is shy, we just don’t know each other and don’t know what to say. It happens.


You gotta open up a bit more when talking to her, because she’ll probably just keep quiet. Of course, if she’s not interested, leave her alone. You can ask one of her friends about her or something. It might be a risk though.

I think that’s generally how I’d expect people to be… more reserved around strangers than with friends. I also considered that commonly accepted. You even reference her as being the “Shy girl” and then proceed to ask questions as to why she is shy.. when you have just described as such.

Shy girls may talk to female friends more because they feel more comfortable and less self-conscious in smaller, close-knit social circles When they like someone, they may blush and act awkward.

i think that sounds totally normal🤷🏻‍♀️ i know i am much more comfortable around other girls and make friends way easier with other girls, and around guys i am 1000x more shy!!😲😲 so i don’t think it’s anything u are doing, i think it’s just the normal for shy girls😅

Yes, she might like him and shy people get shyer with the one they’re interested in. But that’s not always the case.
